Spectators: 5070 (Terracing: 4020, Seating: 1050, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Hugo Cutberto kicked off to start the match. Silverio Marcones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Amadeo Barea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregorio Peruxu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximo Indar in the 10th minute. Maximo Indar's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gregorio Peruxu firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Jeronimo Firme got a free kick in the 11th minute. Dionisio Paul, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Adolfo Mederi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Indar to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Cutberto came free, but Amadeo Barea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sabaleros F.C. booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Maore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Cutberto scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Barea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amadeo Barea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hugo Cutberto's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Adolfo Mederi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Peruxu having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Fabricio Eufrasio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Omar Ostots had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Plate's Amadeo Barea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Marcones in the 34th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Adolfo Mederi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gregorio Peruxu. That made the score 1-2 in the 40 minute of play. In the 46th minute Silverio Marcones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Barea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teofilo Urdaspal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adolfo Mederi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Peruxu having to interfere. Damian Balasi came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Amadeo Barea could save by the left post. Maximo Indar hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute of the match, Cícero Gomes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Amadeo Barea saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Omar Ostots got a free kick in the 66th minute. Amadeo Barea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Marcones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Hugo Cutberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fabricio Eufrasio scored 1-3 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Barea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the game, Hugo Cutberto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amadeo Barea. Hugo Cutberto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Gregorio Peruxu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolfo Mederi went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Sabaleros F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
