The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Gergori got free with Nunez Monico in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Cafayate's zone, Christian Gergori stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nunez Monico came out of the goal and Christian Gergori tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Gergori received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Nunez Monico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Cortamambo's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Mouricio came free, but Clodoveo Flor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Moises Mouricio came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Cafayate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Mouricio couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Christian Gergori made the kick off in the second half. Benjamin Ado charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Ado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cortamambo getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Benjamin Ado hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Santana in the 55th minute of play forced Cortamambo's goalkeeper Clodoveo Flor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Duardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clodoveo Flor having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Duardo in the 66th minute of play forced Cortamambo's goalkeeper Clodoveo Flor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Cortamambo's Christian Gergori nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nunez Monico made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Clodoveo Flor successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ramiro Duardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Nemesio Cidro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Moises Mouricio might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clodoveo Flor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Mouricio ran back to his position shaking his head. Clodoveo Flor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Mouricio in the 86th minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Moises Mouricio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cafayate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Mouricio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moises Mouricio's late challenge caught a Cortamambo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moises Mouricio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cortamambo booed when Cafayate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Mouricio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafayate succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Cortamambo had controlled the match.
