An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Kismi in the 16th minute of play forced MDQ FC's goalkeeper Gilberto Ignado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Godoy's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Maureo came free, but Ricardo Canor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as MDQ FC's Fulgencio Maureo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardo Canor. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. Norberto Kismi might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Ignado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. MDQ FC's Gilberto Ignado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Tolino in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Maureo in the 37th minute of play forced Godoy's goalkeeper Ricardo Canor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Esteve Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacobo Bikendi to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Fulgencio Maureo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Canor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gaudencio Tolino fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Godoy's protests and gave Gaudencio Tolino a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of MDQ FC booed when Godoy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Tolino didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Blai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 59 minutes into the game, Agustin Jacob was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MDQ FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Godoy the free kick. Agustin Jacob hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute of the match Gervasio Truylos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Canor skillfully saved the ball. Ricardo Canor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulgencio Maureo in the 73rd minute of the match. Gilberto Ignado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacobo Bikendi in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, MDQ FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gaudencio Tolino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Gilberto Ignado acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Humberto Elazar. Jacobo Bikendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Ignado having to interfere. Godoy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
