With a little luck, River Plate's Aaron Otoniel got control of the ball when Pablo Kauldi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Juan Cordarin got a free kick in the 29th minute. Daniel Cesaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Necip Veziroğlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Cesaro ran back to his position shaking his head. Necip Veziroğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Cesaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lorenzo Quico hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Jurgi in the 48th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Aaron Otoniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Kauldi was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Nirihau got a freekick which was hit by Cirilo Sauveur. River Plate's Salvador Roldanillo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gustavo Dacio in the 55 minute of the game. Ceferino Ubendu hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the game, Nirihau's Pablo Kauldi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aaron Otoniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 66 minutes into the game, River Plate's Salvador Roldanillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Necip Veziroğlu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Aaron Otoniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Kauldi in the 76th minute of the match. After 79 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Cesaro. River Plate's Aaron Otoniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Jakobe in the 82nd minute of play. Aaron Otoniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pablo Kauldi's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Aaron Otoniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Jakobe in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Ceferino Ubendu came free, but Aaron Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Otoniel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pablo Kauldi went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Jeremias Luken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 94 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeo Jurgi came free, but Aaron Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
