A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo fc's goalkeeper Mario Boniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dagoberto Santos. Mario Boniel made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Dagoberto Santos sent off a good shot on target. Atilano Maidana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Tancredo in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to San Lorenzo fc getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Alejandro Vargas hit a great ball. In the 39th match minute, San Lorenzo fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Otoniel to maneuver through the defense. In the 45thth minute of the game Fabio Tancredo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NAPOLI MDP's Atilano Maidana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 47 minutes into the match, NAPOLI MDP's Ramón Ávila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mario Boniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After having played for 51 minutes, Luis Polo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Polo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ramón Ávila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atilano Maidana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabio Tancredo went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Dagoberto Santos struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Mario Boniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NAPOLI MDP. The supporters of San Lorenzo fc booed when NAPOLI MDP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Javiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atilano Maidana came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo fc's Fabio Tancredo. But to his dismay, Fabio Tancredo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When Ramón Ávila came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the NAPOLI MDP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramón Ávila couldn't finish the play. San Lorenzo fc's Fabio Tancredo managed to work through NAPOLI MDP's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Fabio Tancredo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. German Cordarrol kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. If Ramón Ávila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mario Boniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Santos in the 92nd minute of play. If Dagoberto Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The NAPOLI MDP manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing San Lorenzo fc to win.
