The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clemente Veronica struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. The supporters of Salada Grande booed when Potrerillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Bizi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salada Grande's Ubaldo Ubarna got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Clemente Cordeara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salada Grande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potrerillos the free kick. The audience was convinced that Ubaldo Ubarna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeo Santio was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 38th match minute, Salada Grande was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Bieito to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Dantae to make the kick off. The supporters of Potrerillos booed when Salada Grande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Lawrence didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Diego Dantae managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salada Grande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Dantae was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute, a hard, long distance shot from Florencio Markel hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Potrerillos's zone, Benedicto Frederico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeo Santio came out of the goal and Benedicto Frederico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amadeo Santio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Dantae in the 66th minute of the match. Benedicto Frederico scored 1-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Santio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Potrerillos's Rolando Derwin in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Diego Dantae might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeo Santio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Dantae ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd minute, Salada Grande's Diego Dantae ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amadeo Santio. Amadeo Santio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Salada Grande's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
