After 3 minutes of play, Nasaló's Inocencio Sauveur made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauricio Transito was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inocencio Sauveur during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Geronimo Solustiano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Geronimo Erramun firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Edgardo Mincho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Edgardo Mincho suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Jairo Etxahun hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Mauricio Transito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Orland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the game, Iker Maldonado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nasaló's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ardiles the free kick. In the 24th minute, Iker Maldonado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Nasaló's goalkeeper Geronimo Erramun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Saul Quiroga. Inocencio Sauveur ran back to his position shaking his head. Mauricio Transito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Orland in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ardiles defense, Jonas Lore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauricio Transito. The Ardiles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauricio Transito should have stopped the shot. After 41 minutes of play, Nasaló's Anselmo Orland made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauricio Transito was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Danilo Ponc came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Nasaló fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Ponc couldn't finish the play. After the first half Nasaló were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geronimo Solustiano to strike the kick off in the second half. Danilo Ponc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Anselmo Orland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Ardiles's Mauricio Transito got control of the ball when Anselmo Orland tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ardiles's Placido Perfecto got a free kick in the 70th minute. After 74 minutes Nasaló's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Danilo Ponc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th match minute, Nasaló was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inocencio Sauveur to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Ponc in the 88th minute of play forced Ardiles's goalkeeper Mauricio Transito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ardiles getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Placido Perfecto hit a great ball. The supporters of Nasaló booed when Ardiles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Vasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nasaló played a much better game than Ardiles and deserved their victory. The Ardiles players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
