Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arnaldo Montae kicked off to start the match. After 5 played minutes Perú got a freekick which was hit by Candido Mel. Omar Emeterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Bernardo Fagondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 14 minutes of play, River Plate FC's Arnaldo Laurgain made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Moises Cordarrel was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the game, River Plate FC's Alvaro Eliazar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Moises Cordarrel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 27 played minutes Perú got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Berbiz. After 28 played minutes, River Plate FC's Esteve Edur shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Moises Cordarrel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in River Plate FC reached it. 32 minutes into the match, Perú's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Laurgain came free, but Moises Cordarrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Mauricio Polentzi took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Bernardo Fagondo to make any attempt to save it. Perú's Adolfo Xabel got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Arnaldo Laurgain came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the River Plate FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Laurgain couldn't finish the play. Mauricio Polentzi struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Bernardo Fagondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perú. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

River Plate FC made a substitution. Adolfo Costante replaced Santiago Frichoso. The wind increased when Arnaldo Laurgain made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of River Plate FC booed when Perú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Xabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moises Cordarrel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnaldo Laurgain went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 60 minutes into the match, Perú's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Laurgain came free, but Moises Cordarrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute Generoso Meder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Cordarrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perú's Moises Cordarrel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Generoso Meder in the 62nd minute of play. Adolfo Xabel hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, Adolfo Xabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moises Cordarrel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Generoso Meder in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Alvaro Eliazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Cordarrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moises Cordarrel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Eliazar in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Cristobal Merexildo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. River Plate FC's Joe Mercenario was substituted for Esteve Edur. The supporters of Perú booed when River Plate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristobal Merexildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Costante in the 93rd minute of play forced Perú's goalkeeper Moises Cordarrel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Perú's goalkeeper Moises Cordarrel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Candido Lazcano. In the 97th minute Alvaro Eliazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Cordarrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Perú fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Plate FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
