When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cesar Eztebe made a kick off. Isidro Gilabert's late challenge caught a Quilmes fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isidro Gilabert helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Quilmes fc booed when Deportivo Ceres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deportivo Ceres's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Quilmes fc fully deserved thier win.
