The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Candido Berenguer during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Rudolph got free with Dalmacio Medina in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Santa Monica's Ricardo Ugaitz got a free kick in the 10th minute. Astor Menendo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmacio Medina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Rio Galaxy's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Ugaitz came free, but Venancio Neron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rio Galaxy's Venancio Neron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Ugaitz in the 21st minute of play. Dalmacio Medina was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Astor Menendo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Dalmacio Medina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Astor Menendo in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Santa Monica's Ricardo Ugaitz got a free kick in the 27th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Deportivo Santa Monica's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Menendo came free, but Dalmacio Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rio Galaxy getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Teodoro Darien hit a great ball. After 37 minutes of play, Rio Galaxy's John Rudolph made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dalmacio Medina was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Domingo Quintyn got free with Dalmacio Medina in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dalmacio Medina made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Rudolph in the 46th minute. Fabian Hitzeder hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Astor Menendo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonatan Crescencio made a kick off. Dalmacio Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Rudolph, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Florencio Illan's late challenge caught a Rio Galaxy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florencio Illan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, Deportivo Santa Monica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Illan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Astor Menendo in the 57th minute of play forced Deportivo Santa Monica's goalkeeper Dalmacio Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalmacio Medina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacobo Marcones in the 58th minute of the match. Feliberto Karmel charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Feliberto Karmel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dalmacio Medina came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rio Galaxy's Jacobo Marcones. But to his dismay, Jacobo Marcones quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Dalmacio Medina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Rudolph in the 66th minute of the match. Dalmacio Medina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Rudolph in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Rio Galaxy's Jacobo Marcones nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dalmacio Medina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Quintyn in the 75th minute of play forced Deportivo Santa Monica's goalkeeper Dalmacio Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute of the game Justino Ourente made a throw-in which Domingo Quintyn played forward. Deportivo Santa Monica's Dalmacio Medina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Rudolph in the 80th minute of play. Alonzo Cerilo charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alonzo Cerilo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alonzo Cerilo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Arnaldo Leheren hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After having played for 91 minutes, Jacobo Marcones managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio Galaxy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacobo Marcones was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Rio Galaxy getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Astor Menendo hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Deportivo Santa Monica's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Menendo came free, but Dalmacio Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Rio Galaxy were the better team. Rio Galaxy's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
