Paulo Niva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Beila, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Dubardo got free with Arturo Milian in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Atlético Vinland getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Tomás Brion hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Tomás Brion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Lugano getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Edgard Pelagius hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling German Beila in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Niva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30th minute of the match, Tomás Brion tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arturo Milian saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers German Beila in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Niva saved Atlético Vinland from getting behind. Paulo Niva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Beila in the 41st minute of play. When Celestino Sarracino fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Vinland's protests and gave Celestino Sarracino a yellow card for diving instead. Lugano's Cosme Nuxila quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Celestino Sarracino, made in the 46th minute of the game. The supporters of Atlético Vinland booed when Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Carlomagno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomás Brion to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Vinland's zone, Albino Carlomagno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Niva came out of the goal and Albino Carlomagno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albino Carlomagno struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Paulo Niva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lugano. In the 56th play minute German Beila came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Paulo Niva. 0-1. When Isidro Muc fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Vinland's protests and gave Isidro Muc a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Isidro Muc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cirilo Ortle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as German Beila kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Niva. That made the score 0-2 in the 84 minute of play. In the 90th minute Albino Carlomagno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Niva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. German Beila who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Paulo Niva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tomás Brion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Arturo Milian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
