Reynaldo Kelemen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Beltran having to interfere. Nueva chicago's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Reynaldo Kelemen scored to the left of an out of position Diego Beltran, making the score, 1-0. 26 minutes into the game, Nueva chicago's Igor Umea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruperto Emesto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 28th minute Sixto Giraldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Emesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Beltran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Kelemen, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Florencio Libertad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canallas's supporters rose to their feet, but Florencio Libertad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Beltran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reynaldo Kelemen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ruperto Emesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Giraldo in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Umea in the 45th minute of play forced Canallas's goalkeeper Ruperto Emesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Umea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Emesto having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sixto Giraldo to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Canallas's Jeremias Stephen got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Nueva chicago's Igor Umea got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 56 minutes, Sixto Giraldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nueva chicago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sixto Giraldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Canallas's Ruperto Emesto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Canallas from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixto Giraldo in the 64th minute of play forced Canallas's goalkeeper Ruperto Emesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Kelemen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Beltran having to interfere. Zacarias Hanot charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zacarias Hanot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Nueva chicago getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Zacarias Hanot hit a great ball. If Igor Umea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nueva chicago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Umea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Igor Umea came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Nueva chicago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Umea couldn't finish the play. Canallas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
