But to his dismay, Fermin Lando quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Ruben Firmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. Ruben Firmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Virila having to interfere. Maximiliano Virila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben Firmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Fermin Lando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Vimaro kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Fermin Lando took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maximiliano Virila. Maximiliano Virila dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Ruben Firmo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maximiliano Virila having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaspar Quirze kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teodoro Eate. That made the score 1-4 in the 46 minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Fermin Lando came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Rancagua AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermin Lando couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Ruben Firmo took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Maximiliano Virila to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Pintó la locura's Maximiliano Virila got control of the ball when Fermin Lando tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rancagua AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
