After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Pitin during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Camilo Sarracino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Pastor Berenguer kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Segundero's Angelo Mateo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mauricio Checa, made in the 75th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Emesto in the 83rd minute of play forced Monteverde's goalkeeper Camilo Sarracino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Teodoro Maurino fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monteverde's protests and gave Teodoro Maurino a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Segundero booed when Monteverde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Maurino didn't get a good kick on the ball.
