The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valentin Galindo during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Todolomiro booed when C.A River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Galindo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Acosta in the 14th minute of play forced C.A River Plate's goalkeeper Ruben Sugoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Modesto Laurentzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Aznar in the 16th minute of the match. Ruben Sugoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Acosta, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Lázaro Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Sugoi having to interfere. The supporters of Todolomiro booed when C.A River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Todolomiro's Samuel Quintana suffered a fractured collar bone after 37 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to C.A River Plate getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Sergio Aznar hit a great ball. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A River Plate's goalkeeper Ruben Sugoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Sergio Aznar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Modesto Laurentzi. That made the score 2-0 in the 49 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florentino Frisco to make the kick off. Eliseo Eutropio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Modesto Laurentzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Todolomiro defense, Sergio Aznar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Modesto Laurentzi. The Todolomiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Modesto Laurentzi should have stopped the shot. C.A River Plate's Sergio Aznar got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sergio Aznar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Modesto Laurentzi having to make a save. When Sergio Aznar came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the C.A River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Aznar couldn't finish the play. If Eliseo Eutropio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Todolomiro getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Fernando Domingues hit a great ball. Florentino Frisco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Ruben Sugoi made a huge save. Todolomiro's Modesto Laurentzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Aznar in the 79th minute of play. C.A River Plate's Valentin Galindo got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Valentin Galindo off the ground. Sergio Aznar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Laurentzi having to interfere. If Eliseo Eutropio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Adolfo Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Modesto Laurentzi was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Eliseo Eutropio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adolfo Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. C.A River Plate had played much better football throughout.
