In the 13th minute, Ciro Demesio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to La Vino Tinto getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Arnulfo Piearres hit a great ball. Niceto Sedeni made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Amancio Toro sent off a good shot on target. If Rafet Uyguner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Clis hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Dirk de Zwart fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Vino Tinto's protests and gave Dirk de Zwart a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristo Mendiko during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 34 played minutes Lirin FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Mendiko. In the 36th minute, Rafet Uyguner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Artemio Montrelle was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ciro Demesio struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Artemio Montrelle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Vino Tinto. Amador Furman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Montrelle having to interfere. The Lirin FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. La Vino Tinto were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ladislao Santxol to strike the kick off in the second half. Rafet Uyguner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Artemio Montrelle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lirin FC booed when La Vino Tinto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venancio Calixto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristo Mendiko missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 57 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Niceto Sedeni right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Toro in the 62nd minute of play forced La Vino Tinto's goalkeeper Niceto Sedeni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Ladislao Santxol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niceto Sedeni was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Niceto Sedeni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
