Abelardo Cilio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, AmericanAirlines FC's goalkeeper Abelardo Cilio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximo Lico. Abelardo Cilio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Hodei in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, AmericanAirlines FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Bortzaioriz came free, but Abelardo Cilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Maximo Lico ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Cilio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Maximo Lico came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Dresden FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximo Lico couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Cilio was a little too slow when Leandro Bortzaioriz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 2-0. With a little luck, AmericanAirlines FC's Abelardo Cilio got control of the ball when Maximo Lico tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felipe Hodei charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe Hodei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felipe Hodei hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Maximo Lico might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Cilio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximo Lico ran back to his position shaking his head. Maximo Lico came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Abelardo Cilio could save by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pastor Olivar to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Bortzaioriz in the 51st minute of play forced AmericanAirlines FC's goalkeeper Abelardo Cilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AmericanAirlines FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leandro Bortzaioriz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Maximo Lico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Maximo Lico made a precise shot to the right of Abelardo Cilio. AmericanAirlines FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. In the 81st minute Maximo Lico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Cilio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 85 minutes on the clock, Domingos Joey commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Domingos Joey kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Maximo Lico ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Cilio was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. After 95 minutes, Elpidio Lertxun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AmericanAirlines FC and the Dresden FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
