The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Sol y Sierra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Maiorga came free, but Cayetano Gelmiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Silvano Frutos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Cordera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Mauro Farias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Damaso Cordera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the match, Sergio Indalecio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Damaso Cordera. Maldonado FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio Indalecio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, Maldonado FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Chaime came free, but Damaso Cordera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Maldonado FC defense, Mauro Farias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damaso Cordera. The Maldonado FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damaso Cordera should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sol y Sierra FC's zone, Erubiel Maiorga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Gelmiro came out of the goal and Erubiel Maiorga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sol y Sierra FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Nestor Guifre scored to the left of an out of position Cayetano Gelmiro, making the score, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Sol y Sierra FC's zone, Pablo Ostargi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Gelmiro came out of the goal and Pablo Ostargi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nestor Guifre to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Sergio Indalecio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damaso Cordera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. When Eustacio Mitxaut fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sol y Sierra FC's protests and gave Eustacio Mitxaut a yellow card for diving instead. Maldonado FC's Damaso Cordera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Maldonado FC from getting a goal against them. Damaso Cordera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Silvano Frutos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 65 minute of play. Maldonado FC's Damaso Cordera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Chaime in the 69th minute of play. Damaso Cordera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Chaime, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Diegotxe in the 73rd minute of play forced Maldonado FC's goalkeeper Damaso Cordera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 74 minutes, Erubiel Maiorga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maldonado FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erubiel Maiorga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st match minute, Sol y Sierra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Bertol to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the game, Maldonado FC's Erubiel Maiorga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cayetano Gelmiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. After 89 minutes, Miguel Dominguez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maldonado FC and the Sol y Sierra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Maldonado FC's Miguel Dominguez got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 93 played minutes Maldonado FC got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Guifre. Sergio Indalecio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Damaso Cordera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sol y Sierra FC played a much better game than Maldonado FC and deserved their victory. The Maldonado FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
