Ildefonso Fero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 19 minutes into the game, Cleto Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Antonio Marino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 21 minutes into the game, Skid Row FC's Jonathan Chayo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Marino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. La Mervaleta's Antonio Marino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Santos in the 26th minute of play. After 28 played minutes La Mervaleta got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Valentine. In the 32nd minute of the match, Jaime Valentine got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ildefonso Fero was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Skid Row FC's Ambrosio Oroitz got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Jaime Valentine charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cleto Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Valentine in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ildefonso Fero saved Skid Row FC from getting behind. In the 59th minute, Benito Ceandro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. La Mervaleta's Antonio Marino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save La Mervaleta from getting a goal against them.
