Philipps AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Sansone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, MiRey's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Sansone came free, but Florencio Txema reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Philipps AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Florencio Txema stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nereo Frantzes's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Ezequiel Loreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Firmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 69th minute of the match Vicente Sansone completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Vicente Sansone a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 70th match minute, Philipps AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Sansone to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Philipps AFC's zone, Jonatan Firmo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Loreto came out of the goal and Jonatan Firmo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Maximo Jerrald fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MiRey's protests and gave Maximo Jerrald a yellow card for diving instead. Philipps AFC's Ezequiel Loreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Firmo in the 94th minute of play. When the match was over Philipps AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than MiRey throughout the match.
