The Pehuajó fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claes Ek should have stopped the shot. Loma Negra's Anier Santiago got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Loma Negra getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Benicio Lucero hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Anier Santiago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabio Itzaina charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Itzaina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, Loma Negra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Itzaina to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Anier Santiago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Loma Negra's supporters rose to their feet, but Anier Santiago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claes Ek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 played minutes Loma Negra got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Medina. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anier Santiago made a kick off. Claes Ek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anier Santiago in the 53rd minute of play. Anier Santiago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 62 played minutes Loma Negra got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Itzaina. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Conrado Kunstmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pehuajó's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Kunstmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaston Irrintzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anier Santiago in the 65th minute of play forced Pehuajó's goalkeeper Claes Ek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Hipolito Pelagius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loma Negra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hipolito Pelagius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pehuajó! An unexpectedly hard shot by Anier Santiago in the 81st minute of play forced Pehuajó's goalkeeper Claes Ek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remigio James received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Gaston Irrintzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 played minutes Loma Negra got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Itzaina. With 90 minutes on the clock, Godfredo Sandalio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 91st minute, Godfredo Sandalio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaston Irrintzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Dreibek in the 93rd minute of the match. Loma Negra's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
