Gervasio Pagomari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Normando having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Defensores de Flores's Cristo Segio got a free kick in the 24th minute. Paulino Froylan's late challenge caught a Sánchez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulino Froylan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Defensores de Flores getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Emilio Cugat hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Anastasio Aimar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Witalis Hodas was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Sánchez's Sixto Cutberto got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute Justino Boniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Normando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gervasio Pagomari in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nemesio Normando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sixto Cutberto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Witalis Hodas firmly grabbed it by the left post. Defensores de Flores's Witalis Hodas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Defensores de Flores from getting a goal against them. 74 minutes into the match, Sixto Cutberto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Witalis Hodas, 0-2. After having played for 78 minutes, Justino Boniel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
