In the 16th minute Matias Mingo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horacio Lartaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Erlantz in the 17th minute of play forced Borussia Juniors's goalkeeper Sergio Ponce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olayon Futbol Club CDE's supporters rose to their feet, but Ladislao Erlantz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Ponce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ladislao Erlantz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Ponce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matias Mingo made a kick off. Juan Gelacio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Olayon Futbol Club CDE's Iker Felo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 66th minute, Olayon Futbol Club CDE's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Matias Mingo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Juan Gelacio succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 66th playminute.
