Luis Frascuelo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Christian Duarte sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Racing Club's Ceferino Niva didn't even have to move. 25 minutes into the game, Filomeno Chucho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ceferino Niva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th minute, Filomeno Chucho made a precise shot to the right of Ceferino Niva. Racing Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 39 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Fanuco notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Argentina's Vinicio Piearres. Vinicio Piearres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 43 minutes into the game, Marco Sindo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Argentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing Club the free kick. Marco Sindo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Vinicio Piearres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldo Fanuco's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Ceferino Niva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Sagrario in the 47th minute of the match.

Osvaldo Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Vinicio Piearres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Hanot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vinicio Piearres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Fanuco, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Osvaldo Fanuco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinicio Piearres was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
