The supporters of Patagonia FC booed when Merluza De Barranquilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Banegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Albino Etxepare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Gorbea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Merluza De Barranquilla's Genaro Sansone got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute, Nicolas Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Albino Etxepare took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Filomeno Gorbea to make any attempt to save it. 34 minutes into the match, Patagonia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Banegas came free, but Serafin Izotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafin Izotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Banegas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximo Senon struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Filomeno Gorbea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patagonia FC. A collision led to Merluza De Barranquilla getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Julian Loco hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albino Etxepare to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Merluza De Barranquilla's Serafin Izotz threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabian Banegas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifacio Salvatore couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, Merluza De Barranquilla's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Salvatore came free, but Filomeno Gorbea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Banegas in the 62nd minute of play forced Patagonia FC's goalkeeper Serafin Izotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvano Marz got a throw-in 75 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Albino Etxepare. Albino Etxepare took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filomeno Gorbea. Filomeno Gorbea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. There was no doubt that Patagonia FC were the better team. Patagonia FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
