In the 18th match minute, El Dragón del Sur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Giggs to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Gora lost his temper 20 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 20 played minutes Degaal FC. got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Gora. Lázaro Oihan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Giggs in the 23rd minute of play forced Degaal FC.'s goalkeeper Aaron Intxixu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a left leg Aaron Intxixu saved Degaal FC. from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ryan Giggs to make the kick off. Degaal FC.'s Aaron Intxixu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Degaal FC. from getting a goal against them. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Degaal FC.. Aaron Intxixu came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by El Dragón del Sur's Urbano Harkaitz. But to his dismay, Urbano Harkaitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. Aaron Intxixu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Urre, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Aaron Intxixu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryan Giggs in the 91st minute of play. Romeo Costante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Intxixu having to interfere. If Ryan Giggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
