After 7 played minutes Club Atlético River got a freekick which was hit by Angel Tajo. Alejandro Naelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodosio Salbatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. A collision led to Club Atlético River getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Froilan Dimas hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Teodosio Salbatore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alejandro Naelio. Club Atlético River's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teodosio Salbatore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodosio Salbatore in the 27th minute of play forced Club Atlético River's goalkeeper Alejandro Naelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 minutes of play, Patricio Rey's Jesus Hodei made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alejandro Naelio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 34th minute Teodosio Salbatore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Naelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 45 played minutes Patricio Rey got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Gelmiro.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teodosio Salbatore made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Teodosio Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patricio Rey's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodosio Salbatore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejandro Naelio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the game, Patricio Rey's Teodosio Salbatore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The Club Atlético River fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alejandro Naelio should have stopped the shot. 88 minutes into the game, Patricio Rey's Teodosio Salbatore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alejandro Naelio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Patricio Rey played a much better game than Club Atlético River and deserved their victory. The Club Atlético River players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
