Lino Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético River. 20 minutes into the match, Carlos Ayala notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Club Atlético River's Alejandro Naelio. The supporters of Deportivo Santa Gilda booed when Club Atlético River was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Boniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pablo Txema, 50 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Alejandro Naelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Ayala, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Club Atlético River's Alejandro Naelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Ayala in the 95th minute of play. Deportivo Santa Gilda played a much better game than Club Atlético River and deserved their victory. The Club Atlético River players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
