Edgardo Peter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Guerrero in the 16th minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, Chupacabras Reborn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Iyan to maneuver through the defense. Iker Frichoso hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Orlando Pirates's goalkeeper Edison Smoothy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iker Frichoso. During the 38th minute of the match Cristo Iyan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristo Iyan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Orlando Pirates booed when Chupacabras Reborn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Iyan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Hulk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orlando Pirates's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chupacabras Reborn the free kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Guerrero to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Chupacabras Reborn's Iker Frichoso got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute Cesar Eron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Peter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Orlando Pirates fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edison Smoothy should have stopped the shot. After 92 played minutes Chupacabras Reborn got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Roland. Juan Guerrero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chupacabras Reborn had won after a very even match.
