In the 29th minute Eli Laredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Leoncio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Leoncio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 47 minutes into the game, Chavarría 's Mauro Guerrero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodrigo Leoncio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hilario Gilesindo made a kick off. Fernando Jayvier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Rodrigo Leoncio made a huge save. The Argentinos del Sur fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chavarría were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
