Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Lehior came free, but Andreas Soltveit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes Calabria Norte got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Santio. In the 24th match minute, Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saturnino Piarres to maneuver through the defense. Calabria Norte's Epifanio Tuste was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andreas Soltveit in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Saturnino Piarres kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Saul Luar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Andreas Soltveit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

After 71 played minutes Banfield got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Prejun. Isidro Prejun charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidro Prejun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Calabria Norte's Epifanio Tuste got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Calabria Norte fans cheered their team off the field, for while Banfield had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
