When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Camilo Elixio sped through Universidad Emilhense's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ismael Medero. Ismael Medero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Camilo Elixio's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 23rdth minute of the game Camilo Elixio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Universidad Emilhense's Ismael Medero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Adolfo Azevedo in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Universidad Emilhense's Okhoropir Sulaberidze. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italó's goalkeeper Generoso Haritz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Camilo Elixio took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ismael Medero. Ismael Medero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Universidad Emilhense's Aleksandr Chernavin got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Camilo Elixio sped through Universidad Emilhense's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ismael Medero. When Teodoro Vizcarra came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Universidad Emilhense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Vizcarra couldn't finish the play. Camilo Elixio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ismael Medero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Elixio in the 46th minute of play forced Universidad Emilhense's goalkeeper Ismael Medero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the game, Nilton Dante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Italó's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universidad Emilhense the free kick. After 48 played minutes Italó got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Dante. After the first half Italó were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Camilo Elixio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Generoso Haritz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Vizcarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Universidad Emilhense's Okhoropir Sulaberidze quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Adolfo Azevedo, made in the 61st minute of the game. In the 68th minute, Teodoro Vizcarra made a precise shot to the right of Generoso Haritz. Italó's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Aleksandr Chernavin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universidad Emilhense's supporters rose to their feet, but Aleksandr Chernavin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Generoso Haritz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The throw-in from Jairo Laurentzi in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Universidad Emilhense's Amadeo Rocio. When Italó's Camilo Elixio in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Universidad Emilhense's goalie prevented a goal. After 84 minutes Universidad Emilhense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Urbano Madeo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Italó's corner Abelardo Mederi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ismael Medero quite easily take care of the ball. Generoso Haritz came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Universidad Emilhense's Aleksandr Chernavin. But to his dismay, Aleksandr Chernavin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. 92 minutes into the game, Aleksandr Chernavin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universidad Emilhense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Italó the free kick.
