Adolfo Quinito charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Quinito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Matadores booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Quinito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Independiente defense, Gabriel Vallander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beto Bologna. The Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beto Bologna should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Sebastian Telesforo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matadores's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Telesforo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beto Bologna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gabriel Vallander struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Beto Bologna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matadores. Sebastian Telesforo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Beto Bologna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Anselmo Prejun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Bologna having to interfere. Harry Ödman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Txilar in the 38th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Vallander got free with Beto Bologna in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Calvet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Bologna having to interfere. After 44 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Iraunkor. Matadores's Fulgencio Chepe couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 45th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Independiente. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Beto Bologna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fulgencio Chepe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the game, Matadores's Juan Calvet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beto Bologna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0.
