Spectators: 7478 (Terracing: 5611, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 148) Isidro Afonso started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some careless play in the Alberdi FC defense, Pedro Gonzalez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pablo Arnau. The Alberdi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pablo Arnau should have stopped the shot. 9 minutes into the game, Pedro Gonzalez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Pablo Arnau was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hernán Crespo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pablo Arnau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Pedro Gonzalez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 19 minutes into the game, El Millo de Haedo's Pedro Gonzalez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pablo Arnau made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. El Millo de Haedo's Pedro Gonzalez got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernán Crespo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Arnau saved Alberdi FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Hernán Crespo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pablo Arnau was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Braulio Federigo's late challenge caught a El Millo de Haedo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Federigo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th minute, one of Alberdi FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alberdi FC. The referee gave El Millo de Haedo a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hernán Crespo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Alberdi FC's Pablo Arnau. 0-5. Jorge Olguín received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pablo Arnau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32nd play minutes Hernán Crespo shot 0-6, a short shot which went by Pablo Arnau and just under the crossbar into goal. 36 minutes into the match, Hernán Crespo notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Alberdi FC's Pablo Arnau. Pablo Arnau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 39 minutes of play, El Millo de Haedo's Hernán Crespo made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pablo Arnau was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pablo Arnau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Gonzalez went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. In the 46thth minute of the game Hernán Crespo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alberdi FC's Pablo Arnau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Pedro Gonzalez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The wind increased when Hernán Crespo made the kick off in the second half. Pablo Arnau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernán Crespo in the 52nd minute. 57 minutes into the match, El Millo de Haedo's Hernán Crespo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pablo Arnau narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Gonzalez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pablo Arnau having to make a save. Pedro Gonzalez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Pablo Arnau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernán Crespo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Isidro Afonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isidro Afonso during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 71 minutes, Hernán Crespo made it 0-10 with a short kick to the right side. Alberdi FC's Pablo Arnau tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hernán Crespo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Pablo Arnau made a huge save. If Hernán Crespo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Hernán Crespo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pablo Arnau. That made the score 0-14 in the 97 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded El Millo de Haedo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Alberdi FC.
