Spectators: 7655 (Terracing: 5743, Seating: 1760, VIP seats: 152) Lanus's Rodolfo Leheren started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Sepultura FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Indartsu. 5 minutes into the match, Ángel Labruna notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Sepultura FC's Ernesto Santio. Ernesto Santio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ernesto Santio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolfo Leheren went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Rodolfo Leheren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ernesto Santio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaston Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Mello in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of Sepultura FC booed when Lanus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ángel Labruna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodolfo Leheren in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Santio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25thth minute of the game Rodolfo Leheren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sepultura FC's Ernesto Santio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Leonardo Indartsu fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sepultura FC's protests and gave Leonardo Indartsu a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Sepultura FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Indartsu. Ernesto Santio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodolfo Leheren's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. When Luizinho Mello came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Sepultura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizinho Mello couldn't finish the play. Ángel Labruna might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Santio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ángel Labruna ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute Lanus were awarded a corner. Kristen Kronstad went to the cornerflag to take it. When Sepultura FC's Luizinho Mello in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lanus's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luizinho Mello to make the kick off. Rodolfo Leheren took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Santio. Ernesto Santio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Sepultura FC's Ernesto Santio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Mergildo in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Cipriano Edwardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lanus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 66 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Leheren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Santio. Sepultura FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodolfo Leheren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Gaston Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Mello in the 70th minute of play. Ernesto Santio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Edwardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Sepultura FC's Ernesto Santio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ángel Labruna in the 75th minute of play. Silvestre Gaxan's late challenge caught a Lanus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvestre Gaxan helped the player get up and apologised. Silvestre Gaxan kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ángel Labruna in the 77th minute of play forced Sepultura FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Santio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lanus walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
