The audience was convinced that Cristobal Haritzeder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Augusto Romelio was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Augusto Romelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristobal Haritzeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Oklalomas City Thunder fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augusto Romelio should have stopped the shot. Ambrosio Maldonado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ceferino Adrio made a huge save. Leonel Lain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Adrio having to interfere. Ceferino Adrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Maldonado in the 40th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Cristobal Haritzeder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Augusto Romelio. Oklalomas City Thunder's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristobal Haritzeder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 47th minute, Ambrosio Maldonado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oklalomas City Thunder fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ermegildo Milian to make the kick off. In the 77thth minute of the game Eustacio Nastasio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oklalomas City Thunder's Augusto Romelio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Teobaldo Sotil charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teobaldo Sotil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Oklalomas City Thunder booed when Estudiantes de La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Sotil didn't get a good kick on the ball.
