The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Zancoles FC's zone, Luisito Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Lluc came out of the goal and Luisito Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 5 minutes, Luisito Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capricornio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisito Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 7th minute by Luisito Batista got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Luisito Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Capricornio booed when Zancoles FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Fagildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Benjamin Admon came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Capricornio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Admon couldn't finish the play. Luisito Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Lluc having to interfere. Leonardo Lluc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisito Batista in the 21st minute. Benjamin Admon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel Gurutz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lorenzo Sayvion's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Miguel Gurutz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Frans in the 31st minute of the match. Luisito Batista struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Leonardo Lluc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capricornio. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eulalio Frans was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Lorenzo Petri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
