Spectators: 7577 (Terracing: 5683, Seating: 1743, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gonzalo Cloyo started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Andy Cole managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yaretayo's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Cole was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Gabirel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodolfo Gabirel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aureliano Opilano in the 20th minute of the match. Arnaldo Abaurre kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Antonio Aurre shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michel Duset showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Andy Cole might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodolfo Gabirel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andy Cole ran back to his position shaking his head. Aureliano Opilano struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Rodolfo Gabirel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yaretayo. If Andy Cole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 31 minutes, Aureliano Opilano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yaretayo and the Ranquile players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st minute, Aureliano Opilano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ranquile's Rodolfo Gabirel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Cole in the 34th minute of play. The Yaretayo fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Yaretayo's Aureliano Opilano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Siro Atarratze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Rodolfo Gabirel made a huge save. Andy Cole sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aureliano Opilano was the one to do the kick off. Aureliano Opilano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Gabirel having to interfere. Rodolfo Gabirel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Cole in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Aureliano Opilano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Rodolfo Gabirel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aureliano Opilano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yaretayo's Enrique Maule was substituted for Aureliano Opilano. Enrique Maule received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Rodolfo Gabirel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Yaretayo booed when Ranquile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Medardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Enrique Maule cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Rodolfo Gabirel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 68th minute Wilfredo Gudesteo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Duset saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yaretayo's attack was well implemented in the 72nd minute, but when Enrique Maule was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. 73 minutes into the match, Enrique Maule had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Gabirel. Ranquile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrique Maule was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. A collision led to Ranquile getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Edgardo Froylan hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Enrique Maule put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rodolfo Gabirel. Antonio Aurre's late challenge caught a Yaretayo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio Aurre helped the player get up and apologised. Andy Cole recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ranquile's Wilfredo Gudesteo got a free kick in the 87th minute. Yaretayo's Andy Cole got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Andy Cole made a precise shot to the right of Rodolfo Gabirel. Ranquile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Yaretayo had played much better football throughout.
