Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Stelian Apostol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henric Springfält in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute of the match Basavilbaso FC got a corner. Cobos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henric Springfält ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 9th minute, Basavilbaso FC's Clemente Rubio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stelian Apostol. Stelian Apostol yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Venancio Lop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stelian Apostol having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cobos's Fabricio Bernat got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 27 played minutes Cobos got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Dodorol. After 28 played minutes Basavilbaso FC got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Gentza. Lino Guerrero scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orvar Bäckström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Basavilbaso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Guerrero came free, but Orvar Bäckström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Marquez lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Lino Guerrero walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Orvar Bäckström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Lidman went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The Basavilbaso FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cobos were winning 1-2.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Lino Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cobos's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Guerrero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orvar Bäckström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cobos's goalkeeper Stelian Apostol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Lino Guerrero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orvar Bäckström. Basavilbaso FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lino Guerrero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Lino Guerrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Orvar Bäckström made a huge save. The supporters of Basavilbaso FC booed when Cobos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Bernat didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Basavilbaso FC's Venancio Lop sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stelian Apostol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Venancio Lop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Guerrero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Orvar Bäckström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clemente Rubio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stelian Apostol having to make a save. Orvar Bäckström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lino Guerrero in the 90th minute. Eriberto Lordi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Cobos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cobos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
