In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind River Plate's goalkeeper Nestor Orlondon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nestor Orlondon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gottfrid Backlund in the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to Los Leones getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Chris Alig hit a great ball. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Clodoveo Cayo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Orlondon. Artemio Remigio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nestor Orlondon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Nestor Orlondon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gottfrid Backlund in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Artemio Remigio notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of River Plate's Nestor Orlondon. Nestor Orlondon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, River Plate's Nestor Orlondon got control of the ball when Artemio Remigio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nestor Orlondon didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Los Leones's Artemio Remigio shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-8 in the ordered_time% minute.
