Amancio Favila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Hermon having to interfere. Elias Belarmo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zeledon Goyo firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Elequemedo in the 7th minute of play forced New York RB's goalkeeper Domingos Hermon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Belarmo in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zeledon Goyo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Elias Belarmo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Zeledon Goyo 9 minutes into the match. Teodoro Felo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Colmena's zone, Elias Belarmo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeledon Goyo came out of the goal and Elias Belarmo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zeledon Goyo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Cidro in the 13th minute of the match. After 14 minutes, Justino Pero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New York RB and the Colmena players grew even worse after the yellow card. Justino Pero kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Domingos Hermon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Elequemedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, New York RB's Justino Pero got a free kick in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Colmena's zone, Camilo Xabel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeledon Goyo came out of the goal and Camilo Xabel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zeledon Goyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Belarmo in the 22nd minute of play. Domingos Hermon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Elequemedo in the 25th minute of the match. Zeledon Goyo made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Elias Belarmo sent off a good shot on target. Amancio Lluis's late challenge caught a New York RB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amancio Lluis helped the player get up and apologised. Amancio Lluis kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the match, Elias Belarmo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zeledon Goyo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 32nd match minute, Colmena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Felo to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Osvaldo Medina in the 33rd minute really tested Zeledon Goyo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Colmena getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Teodoro Felo hit a great ball. Salvador Cidro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Zeledon Goyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. New York RB's Justino Pero got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Elias Belarmo made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Belarmo in the 54th minute of play forced Colmena's goalkeeper Zeledon Goyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New York RB's Elias Belarmo got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Colmena's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Belarmo came free, but Zeledon Goyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Elias Belarmo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Zeledon Goyo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 70th minute Elias Belarmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Goyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Elequemedo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Domingos Hermon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, New York RB's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Dodorol came free, but Domingos Hermon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Rainerio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zeledon Goyo. Colmena's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Colmena's Teodoro Felo got a free kick in the 88th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Belarmo in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeledon Goyo saved Colmena from getting behind. New York RB's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
