Aaron Romano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Astor Rufio in the 22nd minute of the match. Salto AFC's Aaron Romano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Egun in the 23rd minute of play. Aaron Romano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Allison, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Donato Cebrian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Cambiasso having to interfere. Tadeo Celipe charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeo Celipe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tadeo Celipe hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Cuquero's goalkeeper Dario Cambiasso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donato Cebrian. Aaron Romano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvio Egun went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvio Egun was the one to do the kick off. Maarek Ojakäär's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dario Cambiasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Aaron Romano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Allison in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, Salto AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maarek Ojakäär to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Cuquero's Aaron Romano threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfredo Garaile, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 68th minute, Cipriano Perrando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69thth minute of the game Donato Cebrian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuquero's Dario Cambiasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sean Allison blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aaron Romano having to make a save. Tadeo Celipe hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match Alfredo Garaile sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aaron Romano skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute, Silvio Egun ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aaron Romano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 83 minutes into the game, Sean Allison lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated Aaron Romano. Aaron Romano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Allison in the 87th minute of play. The Cuquero fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Cuquero's Silvio Egun looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Cuquero booed when Salto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball.
