Diego Kelemen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Vela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Cordeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Cuervachios's goalkeeper Diego Kelemen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elvio James. Diego Kelemen came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Salto AFC's Elvio James. But to his dismay, Elvio James quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Amador Loren came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Cuervachios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amador Loren couldn't finish the play. After having played for 20 minutes, Fernando Berdoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuervachios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Berdoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Fernando Berdoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cuervachios fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Salto AFC's Narciso Vela got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diego Kelemen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Vela in the 29th minute. Aaron Romano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Berdoi went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of Cuervachios booed when Salto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Harriet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cuervachios's Abel Osoro got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 minutes of play, Cuervachios's Fernando Berdoi made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Romano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amador Loren in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aaron Romano saved Salto AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Vela in the 81st minute of play forced Cuervachios's goalkeeper Diego Kelemen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 86 minutes, Amador Loren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuervachios and the Salto AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes Cuervachios got a freekick which was hit by Amador Loren. In the 91st minute, Fernando Berdoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emilio Txema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Salto AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Emilio Txema fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Salto AFC's Aaron Romano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Salto AFC from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cuervachios walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
