Claudinho Quadros was a little too slow when Eusebio Gorri got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 2-0. Maximiliano Lleir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Lluciano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinho Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Lopez in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Iowa FC booed when Catamarca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Txaran didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Catamarca's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebio Gorri came free, but Claudinho Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Catamarca:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Iowa FC:s goal. Claudinho Quadros had in the 44thth minute some difficulties stopping Romulo Rencio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Claudinho Quadros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romulo Rencio went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score.

If Amadeo Oso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Catamarca's Claudinho Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Perutxo in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Eusebio Gorri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iowa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Gorri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 minutes Catamarca's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Prospero Perutxo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iowa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Prospero Perutxo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Catamarca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusebio Gorri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0. A collision led to Iowa FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Eusebio Gorri hit a great ball.
