With a couple of smart ball manuevers Segundo Jerold in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fulgencio Corderro saved Santamarina from getting behind. Severo Ramond could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Mauro Ixidor made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Santamarina's zone, Segundo Jerold stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulgencio Corderro came out of the goal and Segundo Jerold tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Severo Ramond stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Santamarina's Severo Ramond in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mauro Ixidor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lino Remicio's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Cafayete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Ramond came free, but Mauro Ixidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes Cafayete FC got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Cefero. The audience was convinced that Severo Ramond's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Ixidor was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After 88 played minutes Cafayete FC got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Ilazki.
