The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Opilano in the 6th minute of play forced Los Potrillos's goalkeeper Filiberto Figueroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute Abelardo Cloyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Cordara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulgencio Tolino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Figueroa having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Abelardo Cloyo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Potrillos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Cloyo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fulgencio Tolino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Los Potrillos's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Opilano came free, but Filiberto Figueroa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fulgencio Tolino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Filiberto Figueroa made a huge save. Marcial Cordara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Cloyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Evil Spirits getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Fidel Cesaro hit a great ball. Filiberto Figueroa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Opilano in the 42nd minute of play. Raimundo Platon's late challenge caught a Evil Spirits's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Platon helped the player get up and apologised. Raimundo Platon kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Opilano was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Opilano in the 54th minute of play forced Los Potrillos's goalkeeper Filiberto Figueroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Evil Spirits's Dalmacio Sugoi got a free kick in the 61st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Los Potrillos's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Opilano came free, but Filiberto Figueroa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enzo Rioss short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Marcial Cordara to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Abelardo Cloyo took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Marcial Cordara to make any attempt to save it. Pablo Opilano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Filiberto Figueroa having to make a save. Fulgencio Tolino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Filiberto Figueroa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Pablo Opilano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiberto Figueroa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pablo Opilano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Evil Spirits booed when Los Potrillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florencio Hondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Orlando Gonchan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Although Evil Spirits had been in control for most of the match, Los Potrillos still came away with the win.
