The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes, Christian Lastur mouthed his way into the referee's book. In the 3rd match minute, Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Lastur to maneuver through the defense. 4 minutes into the match, ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Venancio Calvet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horacio Janpier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Nereo Gonza in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Severino Bastia kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Nereo Gonza in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 16th minute, Banfield's Serafin Lehen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Venancio Calvet got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Nereo Gonza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horacio Janpier was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 31 minutes into the match, Nereo Gonza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horacio Janpier. Banfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nereo Gonza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 37 minutes, Paolo Eyague mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banfield and the ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Paolo Eyague hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Banfield's Horacio Janpier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Gonza in the 39th minute of play. Geronimo Joanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Lastur in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nereo Gonza to make the kick off. Nereo Gonza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paata Polla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvano Luzea's late challenge caught a ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvano Luzea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Nereo Gonza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Horacio Janpier made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Venancio Calvet sent off a good shot on target. After 71 minutes, Nereo Gonza made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Banfield's Horacio Janpier tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nereo Gonza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Horacio Janpier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nereo Gonza in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Horacio Janpier, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Banfield defense, Venancio Calvet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horacio Janpier. The Banfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horacio Janpier should have stopped the shot. Horacio Janpier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Sarracino in the 85th minute of play. With his leg Horacio Janpier managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Nereo Gonza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 90 minutes, Nereo Gonza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nereo Gonza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geronimo Joanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Frederico, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. ꜱᴀɴ ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ᴅᴇ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
