Alonzo Jerardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romulo Frechoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Romulo Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Niceto Colon came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Sportivo Isla Verde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Colon couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the game, Sportivo Isla Verde's Niceto Colon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolas Lidon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romulo Frechoso in the 31st minute of play forced Sportivo Isla Verde's goalkeeper Alonzo Jerardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Hugo Silvino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportivo Isla Verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Silvino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Lidon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Romulo Frechoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alonzo Jerardo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Romulo Frechoso showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 47 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Niceto Colon made the kick off in the second half. Patos FC's players were relieved. 75 minutes into the game, Lino Frichoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportivo Isla Verde the free kick. Sportivo Isla Verde's Alonzo Jerardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Frechoso in the 79th minute of play. Elias Estevez kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romulo Frechoso in the 89th minute of play forced Sportivo Isla Verde's goalkeeper Alonzo Jerardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niceto Colon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nicolas Lidon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingo Behe charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domingo Behe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 92 played minutes Sportivo Isla Verde got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Behe. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
