Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Felipe Bermudo took the kick off in the first half of the match. Rareș Feraru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Elpidio Urre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the game, Felipe Bermudo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cristobal Felipo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hermelando Bustunzuria received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elpidio Urre came out and tried to block the shot, but Hermelando Bustunzuria slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, Rareș Feraru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, ZarA A.C's Rareș Feraru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elpidio Urre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's zone, Rareș Feraru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elpidio Urre came out of the goal and Rareș Feraru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Rareș Feraru took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Elpidio Urre to make any attempt to save it. In the 20th minute Rareș Feraru suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ZarA A.C:s goal. Martín Palermo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Elpidio Urre skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Martín Palermo 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martín Palermo got free with Elpidio Urre in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elpidio Urre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martín Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Godfredo Valentine fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's Elpidio Urre got control of the ball when Martín Palermo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Martín Palermo put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Elpidio Urre. Elpidio Urre made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Martín Palermo sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz defense, Nazar Mellon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elpidio Urre. The C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elpidio Urre should have stopped the shot. If Hermelando Bustunzuria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martín Palermo was the one to do the kick off. Elpidio Urre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Odol went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. ZarA A.C's Martín Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. ZarA A.C were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. James Gordon took the corner. The corner ended in Sebastian Odol almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's Elpidio Urre did a great save. Martín Palermo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Elpidio Urre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Nazar Mellon managed to get in a good position for a shot. ZarA A.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Nazar Mellon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Urre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martín Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Urre having to make a save. C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz's Elpidio Urre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Palermo in the 65th minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Nazar Mellon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ZarA A.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nazar Mellon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elpidio Urre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Palermo in the 68th minute of the match. Nazar Mellon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elpidio Urre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermelando Bustunzuria, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martín Palermo in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elpidio Urre saved C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Hermelando Bustunzuria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of ZarA A.C booed when C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martín Palermo scored 8-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elpidio Urre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of ZarA A.C booed when C. Atlético Sportivo Díaz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
