Spectators: 7542 (Terracing: 5658, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Conrado Eneto got the match started through his kick off. Raul Perrando blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Placido Jaunzuria having to make a save. Tacura's Omar Bertin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Jakobe in the 4th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Vélez Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Perrando came free, but Placido Jaunzuria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Bertin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dre Wellens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omar Bertin came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Vélez Fútbol Club's Mauricio Jakobe. But to his dismay, Mauricio Jakobe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Vélez Fútbol Club booed when Tacura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Gullit didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Bertin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dre Wellens in the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Mauricio Jakobe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Omar Bertin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 30 minutes into the match, Tacura's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Eneto came free, but Omar Bertin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Ardiles kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Omar Bertin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Jakobe, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Omar Bertin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Oliverio in the 40th minute of play. Tiburcio Mergildo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th match minute, Vélez Fútbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dre Wellens to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Mauricio Jakobe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raul Perrando was the one to do the kick off. Filomeno Obano's late challenge caught a Vélez Fútbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filomeno Obano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th match minute, Tacura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Obano to maneuver through the defense. Haroldo Duardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Omar Bertin made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Perrando in the 86th minute of play forced Vélez Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Placido Jaunzuria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vélez Fútbol Club played a much better game than Tacura and deserved their victory. The Tacura players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
